This is Nick’s second Northern Journeys appearance.
NOTE FROM RICHARD BLANCO, MOST RECENT U.S. PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURAL POET:
Thanks for your book of poems. Some real gems there – so much about place, identity – which is my passion. May the muse continue to be at your side.”

Nick Stone’s poem “A Different Lens”, from Fragments, is reprinted on p. 23 of the current issue of Northern Journeys, Western Edition.
Nick Stone’s poem “May-Day in the Country”, referencing an early woodprint by Winslow Homer for Harpers’s Weekly, was chosen as a winner in the recent Portland Museum of Art – Maine Authors and Publishers competition for ekphrastic poems based on art on display at the Museum. The final event was a reading by each poet of his or her winning poem before a large audience in the Museum’s auditorium. That woodprint and Nick’s winning poem can be found under the POEMS tab on this website.
Based on the success of this competition, Nick is now assisting the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Springs, California, to establish a similar one. We will post the details when available.
We are proud of our list of twenty-five independent stores carrying Fragments, and now even prouder that Bonners Books, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, has joined them. Bonners describes itself as “A medium-sized bookstore in a small town. Many years of improbability.” With a territory including the entire United States west of the Hudson River, we expect spectacular results!
